Description
Meet your guide at 'THISSIO' metro station. We'll take the metro to the milk cream/cheese pie bakery to watch the process of making dough and pies, where you can also buy and taste them. Next, we'll visit the local market, established in 1955 by Greek refugees who came from the Black Sea areas in 1922. Here, you can see the stalls selling vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, seafood, and spices. Learn about the local food scene and the ingredients used in Greek cuisine. Our last visit is to a 'tonir' oven bakery. Check out the oven, which looks like a well and reaches temperatures of around 300 degrees. Here you can also buy and taste the 'shoti puri' bread and other products of the bakery, like 'khachapuri'. Finally, take a walk around the local market and learn about the customs and the pace of life of the local people, before we visit a local family taverna to taste Greek cuisine delicacies.Includes
