Description

Athens is one of the world's great cities, a place where 2,500 years of history sits side by side with a vibrant, modern energy. This full-day private sightseeing tour is the most complete way to experience it. With your own private vehicle and knowledgeable driver waiting from the moment you step outside, every minute of your day is spent exploring, not waiting. Your tour begins with a door-to-door pickup from your hotel, or port at Piraeus. First stop: the Acropolis, the ancient citadel rising above the city that defines Athens like nowhere else on earth. Walk through the Propylaea gateway and stand before the Parthenon, the masterpiece of Classical Greek architecture built in 447 BC and still breathtaking after 25 centuries. From there, visit the award-winning Acropolis Museum, a world-class architectural landmark in its own right, housing the finest collection of Acropolis sculptures and artefacts anywhere in the world. Your driver will share rich historical context at every stop, bringing the stories of gods, philosophers and warriors to life throughout the day. Continue through the city to discover Hadrian's Arch, the towering Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the Panathenaic Stadium, the marble stadium built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Pass through Syntagma Square to witness the theatrical changing of the Evzone presidential guards outside the Greek Parliament. Stroll through picturesque Plaka, Athens' oldest neighborhood, where Byzantine churches, neoclassical buildings and terraced tavernas create a scene unchanged for generations. Explore the eclectic Monastiraki flea market district and take in sweeping panoramic views of the entire city from Lycabettus Hill. Pause for a leisurely lunch at a traditional Greek taverna and savor the flavors of the Mediterranean. The program is fully flexible and tailored entirely to your preferences. Want more time at the Acropolis? Prefer to linger over lunch in Plaka? Interested in the Ancient Agora or the National Archaeological Museum? Simply tell your driver, the itinerary is yours. This is private travel as it should be: no group schedules, no rushing, no compromises. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour. Book now and pay nothing today.
