Description

Experience Athens after dark and discover the city from a totally different perspective with this evening walking tour of illuminated landmarks, lively neighborhoods, and hidden corners of the Greek capital. At the specified time, we will meet in front of the Books Plus store, opposite the National Library of Greece, to begin our evening journey through the heart of Athens. Our first stop will be the imposing Neoclassical trilogy of Athens — the National Library, the Academy, and the University — where illuminated columns and statues create one of the city's most elegant nighttime scenes. We will then continue to Syntagma Square, the political and social center of Athens, where you will witness the famous changing of the guard of the Evzones in front of the Greek Parliament. Under the evening lights, the atmosphere of the square reveals the lively rhythm of modern Athens. From there, we'll walk along Ermou Street, the city's most famous avenue, passing through lively streets, hidden corners and typical spots that showcase Athens' authentic energy after sunset. Along the way, we'll discover the small Byzantine church of Agia Dynamia, beautifully tucked away in the modern city. The route continues towards the Cathedral of Athens before entering the charming neighborhood of Anafiotika, a quiet, island-like corner at the foot of the Acropolis, full of whitewashed streets and unforgettable views. As evening falls, we'll explore the area around the Roman Agora, the Tower of the Winds, and Hadrian's Library, discovering how ancient history and contemporary city life blend in modern Athens. During the experience, your guide will share stories, local insights, and tips on Athens' nightlife, culture, and everyday life, helping you get in touch with the city's true atmosphere after dark. After approximately 2 hours, the tour concludes in the lively Monastiraki District, one of the best places to continue enjoying the evening, surrounded by cafes, bars, restaurants, and the illuminated Acropolis watching over the city.
