Description
Your 4-hour night walk begins as you meet with your Athenian nightlife expert at the Syntagma Metro Station. From here you will have the chance to admire the well-lit Hellenic Parliament, complete with the Presidential Guard, and the Evzones (an elite unit of the Greek army that guards the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in front of the Hellenic Parliament building and the Presidential Mansion). After a few minutes’ walk, you will find yourself visiting your first bar of the night, situated in one of the wealthiest and upmarket districts of the capital, the Kolonaki district (literally meaning 'little column'). Located on the southern slopes of Lycabettus Hill, Kolonaki is the leading shopping area of Athens, and is home to the city's greatest concentration of trendy fashion boutiques and many upscale cafes, bars and restaurants. After you enjoy your first drink of the evening, you will find yourself walking by some of the most beautiful buildings in Athens, such as the National Library of Greece, the National and Kapodistrian University, and the Academy of Athens. Whilst viewing these sites, you will also be on your way towards some of the oldest and busiest streets in downtown Athens. Full of people of all ages, these streets are a great place to meet locals, have fun, and relax. Afterwards, you will visit at least two more bars for drinks, including one of the top 10 bars in the world, and another one which prides itself on having one of the greatest varieties of Greek drinks in the country. Your walk will then take you to the famous Monastiraki District, where you can find the perfect place to honor one of the most cherished habits in Greece, the 'late-night bite'. Your tour will then conclude at the Monastiraki Metro Station, under the beautiful setting of the Acropolis.Includes
