Description
Join a scenic bike ride along the Athens Riviera, following a safe coastal cycling path beside the sea (approximately 8.5 km round trip). This is not a traditional guided tour, but rather a relaxed cycling experience where you'll hear stories and interesting facts about the area as you ride.
Discover beautiful organized beaches and coves, charming seaside cafés, and traditional Greek fish tavernas. Pass by the ARCHELON Sea Turtle Rescue Centre, Greece’s only rehabilitation center for injured sea turtles, as well as several scenic viewpoints perfect for memorable photos.
During the ride, learn about the evolution of Glyfada and Voula, whose history stretches back more than 4,500 years. Pass by the ruins of an Early Christian Basilica, an important archaeological site discovered in 1927.
Continuing along the coast, ride past Asteria of Glyfada, the iconic seaside complex that became the favorite meeting place of Athens' elite and international celebrities during the 1960s and 1970s, before evolving into today's elegant beachfront destination.
As you approach the border between Glyfada and Voula, hear about one of the area's hidden secrets. Stop for approximately 20 minutes at a beautiful seaside park, where you can relax with a coffee, enjoy the surroundings, or even take a refreshing swim if you wish.
After your break, hop back on your bike and cycle along the same stunning coastal route, enjoying the sea breeze and breathtaking views one last time before returning to the starting point.
