Let’s start with a leisurely stroll in the centre of the bustling neighbourhood of Psyrri, one of the most attractive areas of Athens. There, you will enjoy a flavoursome Greek coffee with a delicious koulouri;, (an iconic Greek snack). Next, sample local traditional edibles at a selection of unique Greek delis and speciality pie shops. Taste an authentic savoury’ spanakopita’, (spinach pie) made of flaky phyllo dough, and filled with spinach and feta cheese.
After exploring the impressive historic Varvakios market, where you can find all kinds of meat, fish, and poultry, you will stop at an eatery inside to sample some mouthwatering homemade Greek dishes, such as stuffed tomatoes and peppers, fresh sardines and mousaka. There will also be a selection of Greek delicacies to sample such as cheese, cured meats, olives, natural olive oil, dry fruits and mixtures of nuts.
