The last site of the day is Epidaurus, the great healing sanctuary of the ancient world, where the sick came from across the Mediterranean seeking a cure from the god Asclepius. Its crown jewel is the best-preserved ancient theatre in existence, still hosting performances after 2,300 years. Stand at the center of the orchestra, drop a coin or tear a piece of paper, and hear it from the top row — the acoustics remain an engineering mystery to this day.
