Description
At CastLab Athens by Ergani Athena, you will have an authentic, hands-on experience in a plaster foundry in Athens, based on our family business since 1983 (3rd generation). Upon entering the workshop, you will get to know the space and the process and will choose the design/mold you will work with. Then, with step-by-step guidance, you will go through all the stages of creation: preparation, casting (pouring into the mold), demolding, and basic finishing, so that you have a finished plaster piece in your hands.
After your work is 'born', you will move on to the most characteristic part of the experience: the traditional 'patina' technique, as we have been working it in our foundry for decades. You'll learn how to enhance the statues and give your piece a timeless, vintage character, adapting the result to your personal taste. No prior experience is required! We are by your side at every stage, from the first move to the final result. In the end, you will leave with a unique handmade souvenir, made by your own hands, but also with the warmest memories.
