Go back in time and enjoy a full-day tour seeing the highights of ancient Greece, including the ruins of Delphi and Hosios Loukas Monastery. After a scenic drive through Thebes Valley and its cotton fields, arrive at Delphi which the ancient Greeks believed was the centre of the universe. Scattered across the cliff edge, see its 3 main sites: Sacred Precinct, the Marmaria, and the sacred fountain house Castalian Spring, built in 6th century B.C. Your guide will bring the ruins to life, with anecdotes of how Delphi played a central role in the classical Greek world. Visit the Museum of Delphi and see the bronze Charioteer and Statue of Antinous. From Delphi, continue to the rugged mountain town of Arachova, built on the south slopes of Mount Parnassus. Famous for its attractive hand-woven carpets, red wine and cheese, explore its narrow alleyways and spend an hour enjoying lunch or relaxing in a cafe. Your final visit will be to UNESCO World Heritage site Hosios Loukas Monastery. Built in the 11th century, this Byzantine cathedral has to be one of the greatest buildings in medieval Greece. See its stunning domed churches and mosaics, and wander through the almond trees that abound on the beautiful slopes of Mount Helon.
