Inspired by the ancient Greek proverb 'Νους Υγιής Εν Σώματι Υγιεί', or 'healthy mind in healthy body', NYSY specialises in workshops, private classes, teacher trainings, and retreats by the sea. The highly trained teachers and body therapists explore a variety of classes to help you find your own practice style, in a safe, friendly and supportive environment.
Cleansing and strengthening the body, yoga focuses on training the body through postures and the mind through concentration. Breathing techniques are used to harness energy and focus attention. Hatha yoga, which is usually practiced in the West deepens internal awareness and promotes clarity and relaxation.
Pilates is a body-conditioning and rehabilitation exericse practiced with specialised equipment or on a mat. It's main emphasis is on strengthening the core muscles of the body known as the 'powerhouse'. The aim is to strengthen the center, lengthen the spine, increase body awareness, and build muscle tone and flexibility. A strong center helps alleviate back pain, prevent injury, and bring the body into balance and a better posture.
The pilates method is not just an abdominal work but a complete form of exercise that strengthens and tones every muscle of the body.
