Start in the Ancient Room, a specially designed space that recreates the atmosphere of an ancient Greek symposium. Learn about the history of ancient Greek wine, its production methods, and its role in social and religious ceremonies. See replicas of ancient vessels, such as kraters and kylixes, and discover the intricate designs and depictions that adorned them. Discuss how wine was intertwined with art, philosophy, and daily life in ancient Greece. Next, visit the Ancient Symposium Gallery, where ancient and modern Greek art come together. Observe recreations of ancient statues and contemporary works inspired by Greek mythology. Learn about the sculpting techniques used by ancient Greek artists to create their masterpieces.
