Description

After picking you up from your location, we drive southwest from Athens, passing by the Monastery of Daphne which dates back to the 11th century B.C. Our first stop for 20 minutes is the Corinth Canal. It was the second Canal after Suez that was constructed worldwide and is considered a masterpiece of engineering. Then we visit ancient Corinth where you will see the Agora, the temple of Apollo and the Museum. Apostle Paul lived and preached here for 1.5 years, then he left for Ephesus. The pottery, the statues, and the artifacts inside the Museum will amaze you. This land has many legends and stories to tell such as the Jason and Midea, Sisifos, Alexander the Great, and philosopher Diogenes. Then we drove to Acrokorinth which was the Acropolis of Corinth and became in medieval times a fort. It is considered one of the biggest in Greece. Inside was the temple of Aphrodite, she was the patron Goddess of Corinthians, long fortification walls, etc. After Corinth, we drive for 20 minutes to the rich land of Nemea where for more than 3000 years it produces wine. The area is related to one of the labors of Hercules where he killed the lion. As well, every 4 years sports games to honor Zeus were celebrated there. Here we will visit a local winery, we can always add more if you wish. After wine tasting, we will have lunch in a local restaurant. Then we drive back to Athens to your hotel.
