Goulandris Natural History Museum - GAIA Centre
Athens
At Gaia Centre learn how our planet Earth has been working for millions of years and how it functions today with the involvement of modern people. At the entrance and throughout the exhibition visitors will be greeted by the ancient goddess Gaia.
The unique geosphere here at the centre is a hemispherical dome which presents the rotating planet in 225,000 high resolution images. It also presents, short and simply, the planet's geological evolution from its creation 4.6 billion years ago up until today.
Conceived and put into effect by the London Museum of Natural History, the exhibition is in cooperation with Goulandris Museum of Natural History.
