Spondi
Athens
Spondi is located in the heart of the Pagrati district of Athens, in a charming neo-classical neighbourhood. Visiting Spondi gives access to an otherwise untouched part of the city that is not on the tourist trail. As well as this it has been given two Michelin stars and is a member of the Relais & Chateaux, meaning it is a must for diners in Athens with a luxury budget.
The atmosphere is welcoming, sophisticated and soothing with a philosophy to stay elegant and authentic. Spondi is designed from reclaimed bricks in the style of a vaulted cellar, with a wine cave and courtyard garden to one side, where diners can experience al-fresco dining.
Spondi was opened by Apostolos Trastelis in 1996, and the address is now a point of reference for the best French food in Athens, and even all of Greece. The chefs at Spondi use only the freshest products and as a result, the menu is always changing seasonally. Arnaud Bignon is head chef and uses his skill and top quality produce to create imaginative and exotic French dishes that are also stunningly presented.
