Description

Olympia: We'll have breakfast at the hotel and in the morning we will visit the Archaeological Site of Olympia. Some of the most notable landmarks that we'll meet include the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and of course, the Archaeological Museum. After our visit to the archaeological site, we will drive on through the plains of Ilia and Achaia to the magnificent bridge that crosses the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion. We will pass by the picturesque towns of Nafpactos (Lepanto) and Itea and we'll arrive in Delphi. This is going to be our stop where we'll have dinner and sleep for the night. Delphi: With our batteries recharged, we start our day by visiting the Museum and the Archaeological Site of Delphi. After completing our exploration we depart for Kalambaka, a small town located at the foot of the astonishing rocky complex of Meteora. At this great little town is where we'll dine and rest Meteora: The early breakfast will provide us with a useful boost of energy. We will need it for our visit to Meteora. Perched on top of huge rocks which seem to be suspended in mid-air, these Byzantine Monasteries stand ageless through time. They grant us with a uniquely striking scenery. We will visit 2 byzantine monasteries and we'll observe some of the rarest and most exquisite Byzantine artefacts. Our journey will take us back via Trikala and Lamia. Thermopylae is on our way, so we'll make a brief stop at Leonida’s Monument. It will be early in the evening by the time we'll arrive in Athens and our «4-Day Classical Tour: Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia, Delphi and Meteora» will come to its end.
