Those who are interested will walk to explore and photograph the sculptures that exist in the historical center of Athens where the workshop is located. Starting point is: 1. Acropolis Museum (the distance to the Workshop Place is about 1,5km) 2. Arch of Hadrian (1,2km) 3. Zappeius Palace (600m) (Τhe photos describe the route) The first two photos shows what you are going to create! At the end of the cultural walk we arrive in the workshop place. The program of the creative sculpture workshop, includes the following stages: Reference to historical data on marble and stove carving and the corresponding civilization era (Cycladic, archaic, classical, Greco-Roman, Byzantine, modern folk, contemporary art and folk- like and finally psycho-sculpture having as derivatives self-healing symbols and archetypes. Structure of materials: rocks, marble, crystals and eventual enrichments thereof with metals or fossils The program is aimed at beginners and non-beginners. Participants do not need to have relevant sculpting experience. Becoming familiar with hand tools and learning how to use them for engraving. At the beginning there is a discussion on the work subject,- freely selected as a personal symbol. Common patterns are not given as models for imitation. Support regarding the drawing of the subject and then its transferring on the surface of the marble. Next, traditional sculpture follows with hand tools, exactly as it was carried out in ancient Greece. The themes processed by the 'artists' are rendered in engraved and relief- like forms with deepening on the surface of the marble, (multi-level for highlighting light and shadow) while, in exceptional cases, three dimensional holograms are not excluded. Derivatives: Through their participation, students achieve the following: Know-how on the creation of sculpture works in stone and marble. They create a personal project which they take with them.
