Important Notice - Until April 30, 2023: Hellenic Train to upgrade at the highest level the safety of your trip, proceed in some changes to the schedule until 30 of April. The train from Athens will depart now at 08.28am and will arrive in Kalabaka at 13.11pm, then you will depart back to Athens at 16.45pm. That means the duration of your Meteora tour dropped to 3.5hours and instead of 3 monasteries you will visit 2 but still you are going to see all six of them. Thank you for your understanding. Discover the beauty and history of Meteora on a day trip from Athens. Take in stunning views of the Greek countryside on the comfortable train ride to the town of Kalambaka. Travel with a guide on a van or bus and stop to capture pictures at six historic monasteries. Begin from Stathmos Larissis, the fabulous central railway station of Athens, where you will depart to Kalambaka. Throughout your train journey, indulge in the unique scenic routes the Greek countryside provides. Upon arrival, meet your guide, who will be holding a signboard with your name on it. Walk with your guide to the Meteora Monasteries, where you can admire the fantastic Christian architecture. Discover the over 700 years of history and influence of the monasteries. After the tour ends, you will be transferred to Kalabaka's city center, where you will have over an hour to spend under the shadow of giant rocks, having lunch or a coffee. You will get all the necessary information on how to get to the train station, which is around 5 minutes' walk from the city center. You must be at the train station no later than 6:20PM to catch the train back to Athens.Includes
