Description

Escape the bustle of Athens and take the ferry from Piraeus to Hydra and Poros, two wonderful Greek islands in the heart of the Saronic Gulf. Meet your archaeologist guide in the morning and walk to the chief sea port of Athens and the largest in Greece. Hear about Piraeus Port and its ancient history from your guide before boarding your boat. Transfer to the islands via high-speed boat for a quick and comfortable, one-hour ride. Upon arrival in Poros, the island of the pines, take around 2.5 hours to explore and feel the romantic and laidback energy. Watch the old clock tick from the highest point on the island and discover Poros' long history. Learn all the details from your friendly trip attendant on a relaxing coffee break.  After Poros, cruise through the beautiful waters for 35 minutes to reach Hydra, the island of celebrities. Stroll the narrow streets of the Lady of the Saronic Gulf with your guide. Feel the presence of the likes of Sophia Loren, Leonard Cohen, the Rolling Stones, and many more. Hear about the island and the lifestyle of the locals. Wander the picturesque alleys and opt for a taxi boat or a donkey ride. Taste some delicious Hydra cuisine. In the summer season, enjoy a 30-minute coastal walk with splendid views of Vlychos Beach, deemed one of the nine most beautiful in Europe by Forbes. Dive into the crystal-clear waters before stopping to taste traditional Greek delicacies in a beach-front tavern. Finally, enjoy a short stop for shopping of traditional handmade souvenirs (in all seasons). In the evening, your guide will help you board the boat and send you off back to Piraeus.
