Pick-ups can be arranged from Piraeus Port for cruise ship passengers, or from central Athens hotels, after which you will travel along the coast to Cape Sounio, passing picturesque villages, such as Marina Flisvos, Kalamaki, Glyfada, and Voula. Pause at the seaside resort of Vouliagmeni to visit the sunken caves of Lake Vouliagmeni (“Sunken Lake”), where the water is a constant 24 degrees Celsius (75 degrees Fahrenheit) year round. Continue past the beach resorts of Lagonissi and Saronis. Stop at the Temple of Poseidon, built in the 5th century BC and dedicated to the God of the Sea. Admire the ruins and get panoramic views from the headland. Then, go to a nearby beach to relax under the Mediterranean sun, and swim in the clear blue waters of the Aegean Sea. Enjoy lunch at leisure, before an afternoon return transfer to Piraeus Port or central Athens.
